About the Job As a Development Manager for Facilities, you will project lead operational projects linked to the administration's facility projects. You are responsible for capturing the operational needs, translating them into requirements, and ensuring that the operational perspective is maintained throughout the entire process – from needs analysis and investigation to moving into the completed facility. The role also involves coordinating the various stakeholders of a project, initiating and preparing materials for steering committees, conducting dialogues and workshops, and preparing decision-making materials for management and the board. You are the link between the operations and the city's property owner; the city properties' project manager, who is responsible for implementing the facility project. Together, you ensure that the project's goals, timeline, and deliverables meet the operational needs. The assignment also includes driving internal investigations and development projects that strengthen working methods and collaboration, both within the administration and together with other actors in the city, as well as preparing decision-making materials that support management and the board in strategic choices. The Local Planning Unit has a central role in the administration in contributing to the development of the city's facility supply and creating conditions for well-functioning operations that meet the needs of Gothenburg's residents – today and in the future. We work with everything from strategic facility planning and urban development to the implementation of facility projects that create functional living environments for our tenants and participants as well as good working environments for the administration's employees. About You For you to succeed in your assignment, we want you to have the following competencies and experience. Requirements: You have a degree from higher education in urban development, public administration, or education that the employer deems relevant. Experience in preparing decision-making materials, investigations, and presentations for, for example, management or steering committees. Experience from the public sector, preferably municipal operations, and understanding of working in a politically governed organization at a strategic level. Merits: Experience in leading and coordinating (complex) facility projects or development assignments with many stakeholders and different perspectives. Experience in facility provision, facility development, or activity-related facility projects. Experience in urban development, construction, or real estate processes. Experience in leading change and development work. Project management training or certification in project management, for example XLPM or equivalent.
