Patients are cared for on department 53 pre- and postoperatively. Department 53 has, in addition to regular ward beds, an admission unit and 6 intermediate care beds (IMA). At IMA, patients are cared for who no longer need intensive care but still require a higher level of care than a regular ward. IMA also serves as a postoperative unit for our lung and vascular surgery patients as well as cardiology patients.
