Adapted primary school is a distinct educational form designed for students assessed as not having the prerequisites to meet the requirements of regular primary school due to intellectual disabilities. Adapted primary school has its own curriculum, and instruction is tailored to each student's prerequisites and needs. Within the adapted school forms program on Gotland, we teach students in grades 1-9 in adapted primary school and grades 1-4 in adapted upper secondary school. Currently, we have approximately 80 students enrolled in adapted primary school and approximately 40 students enrolled in adapted upper secondary school. We are now seeking to strengthen our operations for younger age groups. Your Responsibilities We are looking for a student assistant with a strong interest in people and the ability to build positive relationships. You will work in the classroom closely with other engaged colleagues and special education teachers during the school day. In the afternoons, you will work in a leisure program at another school with students who need adjustments and care. The work can sometimes be physically demanding and includes some care tasks. Working hours vary but include school days and afternoon leisure activities. Together, you will work using low-stress interaction methods. As a student assistant in adapted primary school, you will work based on each student's development and prerequisites. Students in our school form have intellectual disabilities and are at different developmental levels. Our students need support in various situations throughout the day, including outside the classroom. You will participate throughout the students' school day in collaboration with special education teachers. You will support students in learning and provide the care students need for the school day to function well. You will work based on students' needs, interests, and prerequisites. It is important that you have a low-stress interaction approach and mindset. Who Are You? You should be trained as a childcare worker or equivalent with solid experience working using low-stress methods with children with intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities. A driver's license is a plus. It is an asset if you have student assistant training or experience in healthcare/LSS. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and responsive to students' individual prerequisites. You must be calm and pedagogical with great patience and the ability to create security for each student. You have a positive attitude toward the work. You need to be clear in your actions. You speak, read, and write Swedish fluently. The work requires your ability to plan and prioritize your tasks. We are now recruiting a childcare worker to our Western Visby preschool district. The district consists of the following units: Asken, Humlan, Linden, Kabyssen, Heden and Törnekvior. All preschools are centrally located in Visby. The district is led by a leadership team consisting of a principal, two assistant principals and two special education teachers. Your duties As a childcare worker, you are part of a pedagogical team of preschool teachers and childcare workers. In your role as a childcare worker, you support the preschool teacher in planning, conducting, developing and evaluating teaching based on the needs of the group, the individual child's needs, the preschool's curriculum and the administration's quality work. As part of the preschool's team, you help shape the preschool's pedagogical environments and participate in development conversations, parent meetings and cooperation between home and preschool. Together we create a high-quality preschool that children and parents can look back on as a positive and developmental time in the family's life. The role includes supporting children in need of support in the educational activities. Who are you? We are looking for you who are a motivated professionally trained childcare worker. You understand and master Swedish in speech and writing. You also need to have digital competence, both for your own work and for work with children. We would appreciate it if you have experience working as a childcare worker in preschool. We also see that you ideally have experience working with children with special needs and that you have worked with alternative communication, for example TAKK. You must also have a driver's license for a car. As a person, you should have excellent cooperation skills and be accommodating in your approach to children, guardians and colleagues. You are responsive, curious and development-oriented. You take initiative, find it easy to cooperate and build good relationships with children, guardians and colleagues. You should focus on children and have confidence in their ability and competence. You can be guided by preschool teachers in your work. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
