Your Teams The project is a collaboration between MAX IV and the DanMAX beamline, the BatMAX hub, and Chalmers University of Technology. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate who wants to work in an environment characterized by close collaboration between many closely connected teams. DanMAX, part of the Hard X-ray Group at MAX IV, is a beamline in materials science specializing in X-ray diffraction and full-field imaging techniques. The beamline has a broad user base, ranging from physics and chemistry to medical science. A significant portion of the user base conducts research on batteries and battery materials. This NanoCT position is affiliated with the Division of Materials Physics (Prof. A. Matic) at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Chalmers University of Technology, which has a strong research focus on next-generation chemical compositions and operando characterization of batteries using X-ray imaging and spectroscopy. Batteries@Chalmers brings together >99 researchers from six institutions to develop education, research, and infrastructure in battery technology. Extensive research is conducted on materials, cell concepts, manufacturing, battery management, monitoring and aging, life cycle analysis, and recycling. The Project The project will be conducted within the BatMAX hub at MAX IV, a consortium consisting of four universities (Chalmers, Lund, Uppsala, and Aarhus), which will collaborate closely to address challenges related to sodium-ion solid-state batteries through six weeks of beam time per year distributed across six different beamlines. The BatMAX hub is linked to Battery Matrix, an internal group at MAX IV that enables collaboration across the laboratory in battery research. This postdoctoral position will play an active role in activities spanning multiple beamlines, both through the BatMAX hub and Battery Matrix. This position is one of three postdoctoral positions tied to the BatMAX consortium, each with different focus areas, connecting the university groups with MAX IV. The positions are financed through the national strategic initiative COMPEL, which aims to strengthen battery research and education in Sweden. NanoCT has been demonstrated at DanMAX but remains in a development stage that is not ready for users without expert knowledge. The goal of the project is to develop both the previously demonstrated X-ray microscopy mode and the holotomography mode. This includes developing software for experimental control, phase retrieval, and reconstruction. It will also include developing best practices for nanoCT on batteries, with a particular focus on minimizing radiation damage and enabling in operando nanoCT. Beamline Scientist at Bloch Beamline

Your Team The Bloch beamline is dedicated to high-resolution ARPES and spin-ARPES for studying the electronic structure of surfaces and 2D materials. The beamline provides VUV and soft X-ray radiation with variable polarization to two end stations – ARPES and spin-ARPES – with beam sizes down to 10 μm × 10 μm. The team consists of six members, including researchers, engineers, postdoctoral fellows, and technicians, who actively drive several research and development projects. Combined with our fast tomography table and improved scanning sequencing, considerable improvements in temporal and spatial resolution will be possible, enabling an expansion of the application areas for this type of experiment in battery research, as well as in many other research fields. The project will also include development of algorithms for iterative reconstruction and noise reduction to improve the quality of spatially resolved XRD data. MAX IV and the BatMAX consortium seek a postdoctoral researcher to: Lead the development of X-ray diffraction and computed tomography (XRD-CT) at the DanMAX beamline in close collaboration with the Solid Mechanics group at Lund University. About the division The Diffraction & Imaging Division consists of the scientific staff that are leading the instrument construction projects and the staff that will eventually execute the day-to-day operations of six neutron instruments. We are seeking a candidate who wishes to contribute to the research project What's Next For Frontier Particle Physics? through a three-year postdoctoral position. The position is located at the Department of Philosophy, Lund University, within Adam Koberinski's research group and is partially financed by the LMK Foundation. The Research Project What's Next for Frontier Particle Physics? is a five-year research project conducted at Lund University with Adam Koberinski as the principal investigator (PI). Particle physics is at a crossroads. On one hand, the Standard Model of particle physics has withstood decades of rigorous testing and exhibits some of the most precisely confirmed predictions in the history of science. On the other hand, the Standard Model itself appears to indicate that it should not work as well as it does, and physicists expect the model to be incomplete. This suggests that there is something problematic in our current understanding of the Standard Model – but what? Conceptual questions of this kind are particularly well-suited for philosophy of science analysis. The project constitutes a threefold philosophical investigation of contemporary particle physics aimed at diagnosing the theoretical and experimental challenges facing the Standard Model. The project comprises (1) an in-depth study of the foundations of theoretical particle physics, (2) a comprehensive analysis of how and why particle physics has been so successful over recent decades, and (3) an analysis of particle physics experiments seeking new, yet unknown physics. The project involves close collaboration between philosophers and researchers in Lund University's particle physics division, enabling continuous exchange of ideas and direct philosophical engagement in current physics research. Special attention will be given to experiments conducted at the European Spallation Source (ESS) research facility in Lund. Duties and Responsibilities As a postdoc, you will play a central role in the project from its inception. During the three-year employment period, your contributions will be crucial for the project to develop rapidly and productively from the start. The position offers a high degree of intellectual independence within a collaborative research environment. Main duties: Conduct independent, high-quality research in philosophy of science in line with one or more of the project's three research areas. Collaborate with the principal investigator on co-authored scientific articles and other project outputs. Regular participation in group meetings and seminars is expected. Hospital Physicist for Radiology and MR Physics Unit in Lund

We are now seeking a licensed hospital physicist specializing in radiology physics who wants to become part of our forward-thinking team! Radiology and MR Physics is a unit under the Radiation Physics Department. The unit coordinates radiation protection work within operations using X-ray radiation and promotes optimized use of radiation, where the medical purpose of the examination or procedure is achieved with the lowest possible radiation dose to the patient. The unit also participates in procurements, quality assurance, and training initiatives within the field. At the Radiology and MR Physics unit, all of the region's radiological physicists are employed. We are a team consisting of 15 hospital physicists, one engineer, and one biomedical analyst who together support the region's radiology operations with our expertise. 1 position(s). DUTIES In this role, you work closely with various departments and contribute to strong radiation protection through a preventive and consultative approach. You provide advice on radiation protection matters, educate staff, and collaborate with departments to create safe and efficient work processes. The work is varied and includes optimization of examination methods, development of work procedures, and participation in quality and improvement initiatives. You also contribute your physics expertise in projects, investigations, and procurements within the field. As a natural part of working at a university hospital, you will have the opportunity to participate in research and development, which contributes to both the department's and your own professional development. Working hours are scheduled during daytime, Monday through Friday, which provides good opportunities for work-life balance. QUALIFICATIONS You are a licensed hospital physicist authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare, specializing in radiology physics. You have Swedish language skills at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale and also have good English language skills in both speaking and writing. Experience working as a hospital physicist specializing in radiology, specialist competence, and completed research training are advantageous. We want you to be analytical, have high integrity, and good collaboration skills. You are comfortable working both independently and in groups. Structure and the ability to complete work tasks for which you are responsible are required for this position. We would like you to be outgoing and have a high degree of flexibility, documentation skills, and the ability to see the bigger picture. You are pedagogical and enjoy your role as a lecturer; training various professional groups within healthcare is a significant part of the work duties.
