Café Staff Needed for Art Café

Do you love people, connections, coffee, and art? Then you're warmly welcome to Kahawa Art Café in the heart of Ljungskile. In June 2025, we opened the doors to a brand new, unique little café with art exhibitions and cultural events. The café is located in central Ljungskile, within walking distance to bus and train with excellent transportation, close to the beach, nature areas, and a fantastic coastal environment. During the summer season, it's a well-visited spot for both locals and tourists. The concept is built on truly excellent specialty coffee, delicious treats, sandwiches, and lunches prepared completely from scratch on-site in the café. Quality, sustainability, and generosity are central to our operations, and we've created a meeting place where visitors can feel at home, want to stay a while, or grab take-away and receive genuinely wonderful personal service. We have regular events such as gallery openings, live music, and art workshops. We're looking for an engaged and creative person ready to take on the daily operations and help develop the café with us. We're looking for someone who is truly passionate about excellent service, high-quality specialty coffee, has an interest in baking and cooking, is self-motivated, and enjoys going the extra mile. The position will include cash handling, coffee preparation, serving, baking and simple cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning with varying tasks and different paces depending on customer flow in the café. It's therefore desirable that you're self-motivated, take initiative, and are proactive—tackling what needs to be done in the moment. Equally important is that you're comfortable taking instructions and enjoy being part of a small, familial team where we collaborate and complement each other. It's important that you're comfortable managing and running the café alone on days when needed, and the position may evolve into a café manager role for the right person. Requirements: You should be someone who loves meeting people and providing good, personal service Have a strong interest in coffee, baking, and cooking You should have solid work experience in service and/or bakery/café/restaurant industry. Therefore, we encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to apply. Desirable: Comfortable speaking English with our international guests Barista experience/training is a plus but not required—the right person will receive training as needed Pastry chef/cook training—it's a big plus if you're interested in and knowledgeable about sustainability in food and the café industry Catering experience We serve breakfast on certain dates and would like you to be able to prepare for these early mornings (on-site from around 7:30) Driver's license (B category) What we offer: 75-100% position with a 6-month probationary period leading to permanent employment for the right person A wonderful and creative environment where we care about a sustainable workplace where everyone working here feels good and enjoys it Continuing education and knowledge about specialty coffee and various brewing methods For the creative minded, there are endless opportunities for personal activities and projects within the café's operations.
