Your Role The Mine Planning Department in Kiruna is now looking for a production geologist with a focus on underground tunnel mapping and drill core logging. In this role, you will work closely with our mine geologists, structural geologists, specialists, technicians, diamond drillers, rock mechanics technicians, and other mine employees. Here, collaboration, responsibility, and a strong safety awareness are valued. Your tasks include geological mapping of rock in tunnels as they are being driven, drill core mapping, and visits to drilling sites underground. As one of the world's largest underground iron ore mines, you will be among the first to examine the newly exposed rock. You gather relevant geological, structural, and geotechnical information that forms the basis for important decisions in mine planning. The position offers a varied and dynamic work environment where you get to experience the high-quality ore of Kiruna Mine up close and contribute to meeting the unique challenges and demands that large-scale mining operations entail. Short-Term Mine Planning Engineer

Your role As a Mine planner with focus on fieldwork and short-term planning, you will act as a link between mine planning and daily operations. A significant part of your time will be spent underground, working closely with production teams to ensure plans are practical, achievable and aligned with operational needs. You will also contribute to medium and long-term planning by providing valuable operational insights. You will: Support and develop short-term mine plans in close collaboration with operations. Conduct regular underground field visits to verify conditions and identify constraints. Monitor mining progress and provide planning recommendations. Coordinate with production teams to support safe and efficient mining activities. Analyze operational data and contribute to planning across different time horizons. Prepare planning documentation, reports and presentations. You will be part of a collaborative planning team where your understanding of both field conditions and planning processes has a direct impact on operational performance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or another relevant discipline. Strong interest in underground mining and mine planning. Understanding of mining operations and production processes. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Good communication skills in Swedish and English. Manual Category B driver's license required. Meritorious Experience from underground mining operations. Experience with mine planning software such as Deswik, Datamine, Vulcan or similar.
