Social Secretary for Family Foster Care, Child Secretary

Description As an employee in Gislaveds Municipality, you are a co-creator at your workplace. You are given the opportunity and expected to contribute to the development of operations through your knowledge and experience. With us, respect for diversity and the equal value of all people are fundamental. With us, you will meet engaged colleagues with broad expertise and close collaboration where we help and support each other. We work based on trust-based leadership and believe in participation, development, and active employee involvement. We are proud to be a workplace where employees thrive, develop, and feel good. The Unit for Children and Family Authority consists of a unit manager, three group leaders, and 25 social secretaries, of which eight social secretaries and one group leader work within family foster care. These are divided among three family home secretaries and five child caseworkers. Work Tasks As a child secretary, you are responsible for following up placed children and young people in foster care. You have an important role in creating security and continuity for the child by maintaining regular contact with the child, the foster family, and the biological parents. The work is conducted in close collaboration with the family home secretaries regarding the placed child or young person. The role involves many contact points and suits you if you enjoy coordinating, building relationships, and keeping processes together. We strive to create good conditions for children in foster care and their foster families. Participation, good relationships, and respectful collaboration between children, biological parents, and foster families are central to our work. The work group actively works on developing and improving operations, and several exciting development areas are underway. The work is based on SoL and LVU. We work according to BBIC (Children's Needs in Focus) and strive for high-quality social work, built on knowledge, continuity, participation, and a holistic perspective. Qualifications You are trained as a social worker or have other education deemed equivalent for authority work regarding children and young people. It is meritorious if you have experience working with authority responsibility within the target group of children and youth. If you have equivalent education but need to take up a single course, we can arrange this if you are the right person. You have the ability to analyze complex problems, see the long-term significance and further consequences of things, and adapt your actions accordingly. You see opportunities in changes and contribute with new ideas and new approaches to work-related questions. You view operations from a holistic perspective, can connect wholes and parts, future and present. We want you to be able to take initiative, start activities, and achieve results. You also have the ability to structure your own work and prioritize among the tasks to be performed by focusing on the right things when there is a lot happening around you. We are looking for someone who listens, communicates, and resolves conflicts constructively and can express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing. You have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking on that person's feelings, and you need to be calm and stable and show courage in difficult situations. Our foster families are located throughout Sweden, which means some travel is required during work. We Offer A strong team spirit and engaged colleagues Good working hours Opportunity for remote work Competitive salary External supervision Competence development through Professional Journey, for example, difficult conversations and in-depth knowledge of LVU Paid vacation from the first year of employment Free access to the municipality's swimming facilities and discount on gym membership Free parking An appreciated staff association Your employee involvement is deeply connected to your ability to collaborate and participate in your own and the organization's development. With us, this means you have good collaboration with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and in the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with high service standards, friendliness, and high quality through customer and service focus. You take responsibility for being involved in operational matters and are solution-oriented. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that your view of employee involvement aligns with ours. We conduct background checks (certificate from the criminal record) as a form of suitability assessment for all who are offered employment in activities where there is direct and regular contact with children and young people. Do you want to be part of our success? Welcome with your application! In Gislaveds Municipality, full-time employment is a right, and therefore vacant positions* are advertised as full-time. When operations can accommodate part-time work, it is of course a possibility. *positions that are shorter than 3 months and certain positions may be excepted. In preparation for the recruitment work, Gislaveds Municipality has taken a position on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore politely decline contact from media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
