Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Turbine Blades, Nozzle Guides & Rotor
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a senior mechanical design engineer, you'll play a central role in developing our gas turbines and the hottest components within the turbine. You'll work across the entire design chain—from concept development and technical decisions to detailed design and implementation in the finished product.
In your work, you'll create advanced CAD models and drawings, provide technical support to procurement and external suppliers, and manage technical investigations related to failure reports from our service operations. This role gives you the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, take on increased responsibility, and contribute to developing innovative solutions that drive performance and reliability in tomorrow's turbines.
How You'll Make an Impact
Participate in developing design solutions alongside other disciplines within the R&D department.
Document design solutions through 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications.
Serve as the technical contact with our service department, suppliers, and workshop.
Conduct or participate in failure and root cause investigations.
Opportunity to lead smaller projects or sub-projects for new and existing turbine products.
Continuously improve methods and processes as part of your daily work.
What You Bring
You hold a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
You have at least 5 years of experience with 3D CAD and technical drawing creation, ideally in a driving role in development work.
You're a curious and driven individual who loves learning new things.
You speak both English and Swedish fluently, both verbally and in writing.
You value collaboration and teamwork.
Clear Development Opportunities
With us, you'll receive structured onboarding and a clear starting point into the organization. Based in the hot blade and rotor design group, you'll have the opportunity to take the next step in your career in an international environment with many contact points and technical interfaces. This role puts you in a strong position to gradually take on greater responsibility, deepen your expertise, and develop further within Siemens Energy.
About the Team
You'll become part of a department with approximately 120 people, where our team of about 15 focuses on turbine blading and rotor. The group is responsible for design and development of turbine components for our gas turbines, SGT-600, -700, -750, and -800. Here, deep technical expertise is combined with an open climate where questions, collaboration, and learning are encouraged.
Within the Gas Services division, we offer energy solutions with zero or low emissions based on our gas turbines under one roof, along with steam turbines and generators. Through service, modernization, and digitalization of the installed fleet, we create opportunities for reduced carbon footprint.
We can offer you attractive employment benefits such as reduced working hours, advance vacation, wellness allowance, and possible flexible workplace options.
