Swedish Customs Service Seeks Operations Officer, Internal Control/Clearance Operations

The Swedish Customs Service's core operations are divided into four departments: control, customs crime, intelligence, and collection. The Swedish Customs Service is now seeking a case officer for the control department, positioned in the internal control group at Arlanda. Internal control is the part of the control department responsible for ensuring that correct customs duties and other fees are collected for goods imported to and exported from the country, and for monitoring that import and export regulations are followed. The assignment ultimately aims to ensure that only approved goods pass Sweden's borders. About the position As an operations officer in the Internal Control department, your work tasks primarily consist of ensuring that companies and individuals comply with customs regulations. You review and process customs declarations, thereby contributing to correct and efficient customs management. You will work in the control department's office landscape and clearance operations. In the clearance operations, we always wear uniforms. The work is varied and includes everything from various types of administrative work, operations work where you meet new people, as well as some physical inspections in the form of goods inspections and checks in postal and courier flows. As a case officer, you make various government decisions daily. The work is performed in several different digital systems and includes contact with companies, individuals, and other government agencies. New questions and situations require that you as a case officer are flexible, problem-solving, calm, and stress-resilient. We place great importance on your ability to treat people with respect and understanding, that you have good judgment, and that you are a good representative for the Swedish Customs Service both internally and externally. The Swedish Customs Service is undergoing extensive development and change work. This means that you need to be curious, flexible, and interested in learning new things. The work also means that you need to be able to work in several different digital systems and apply different regulations. Are you the person we're looking for? We are looking for someone who has: Completed upper secondary education and at least three years of work experience, and/or: Completed qualified vocational education/higher vocational education in freight forwarding, logistics, economics, law, or alternatively studies of at least 60 credits/90 higher education credits with a focus on freight forwarding, logistics, economics, law, political science, or other education that the employer considers equivalent Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Good knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Swedish driver's license, class B for cars, and good driving skills. It is meritorious if you have: Work experience in case handling or case administration from other public sector activities, or similar work tasks within the private sector. Experience of customs-related work in the last ten years, for example from the freight forwarding industry or from activities working with foreign trade Experience working in service or similar work tasks, for example work with customer contacts.
