Polhemsskolan is Gävle's largest upper secondary school with approximately 1,100 students. At Polhemsskolan there are 9 national programs, including one college-preparatory and eight vocational programs. At Polhemsskolan there are well-developed work teams and comprehensive quality work aimed at increasing students' achievement of learning goals. The HVAC and Property Program is a vocational program for young people who are training to work in the HVAC, industrial piping, and refrigeration and heat pump technology sectors.

DUTIES
Do you want to make a difference for young people while contributing your professional expertise? Polhemsskolan is now seeking a vocational teacher for the HVAC and Property Program who wants to inspire future industry professionals through knowledge, commitment, and close collaboration with the industry.
Your duties include:
• Teaching, holding class responsibility, and responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons, particularly in HVAC courses but also in foundational courses common to the entire program. The work is performed according to established goals and guidelines.
• Serving as a mentor and, together with your colleagues, creating a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with students' best interests in focus.
• Collaborating with the industry regarding apprenticeship placements and program boards. You are also responsible for supervising students during their apprenticeships at external workplaces.
You challenge and support students so they achieve good study results. The work is performed in collaboration with student services, guardians, and other stakeholders outside the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
• Has training and professional credentials in HVAC.
• Has work experience from the HVAC industry.
• Has experience and has worked professionally in HVAC.
• Can express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing.
Merits for the position include:
• Having knowledge of and experience with digital tools.
• Having a teaching degree and certification to teach HVAC subjects.
• Being familiar with the upper secondary school curriculum.

• You have a good ability to make students feel belonging and inclusion. You have the ability to lead and motivate students and get them to feel good at school.
• You create open dialogue and adapt your communication based on the current situation.
Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
As a final candidate in the recruitment process, you must provide a background check report for work in schools or preschools. You can order the background check on the police website.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Indefinite, start date: August 12, 2026, or by agreement.
