Volvo Penta in Vara. Volvo Penta in Vara is a global supplier and manufacturer of diesel engines, drivetrains, and accessories for both recreational and commercial boat markets. The factory has been in operation since 1977 and has become an important part of Volvo Penta's operations. The factory manufactures, among other things, the new generation of D4/D6 diesel engines, known for their environmental friendliness, comfort, and performance.
