Valmiera 2. Secondary School (hereinafter – the Institution) invites applications for a History and Social Sciences teacher (profession code 2330 01) for a fixed-term position. The expected start date of employment is September 1, 2026. Work location: Raiņa iela 11, Valmiera, Valmieras novads.
If you have the desire to:
• implement educational programs in the subject of social sciences (primary school), HISTORY I, SOCIAL SCIENCES I, SOCIAL SCIENCES II (secondary school) in accordance with the State Education Standard;
• lead the pedagogical process with students, applying innovative opportunities and methodologies offered by information technology;
• participate in the implementation of the Institution's development goals and tasks, as well as in projects carried out by the Institution;
• prepare students for olympiads and competitions;
and if you have:
• education in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 569 "Regulations on Education and Professional Qualifications Required for Educators and the Procedure for Improving Professional Competence of Educators" or are a student;
• compliance with requirements specified in the Education Law and the Child Rights Protection Law;
• knowledge of regulatory acts regulating the education sector;
• knowledge of teaching and educational work content;
• proficiency in the state language in accordance with the requirements of the State Language Law;
• skills in working with computers (MS Office applications, one of the web browsers – Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) and educational technologies;
• competencies: excellent communication skills; psychological resilience and communication culture; ability to make decisions, skill to respond and act in non-standard situations;
we offer:
• salary in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 445 "Regulations on Teachers' Work Remuneration", 1605 EUR per month before taxes for one full-time pedagogical position;
• part-time work – 0.50 position for grades 8–12;
• employer co-financed health insurance after the probation period ends, as well as other social guarantees/benefits in accordance with work results and regulations;
