Do you want to evaluate research based on established methodology and contribute to evidence-based practice? SBU is seeking a project manager to evaluate the scientific support for interventions, treatments, and methods within healthcare. The Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU) is seeking a project manager for the Somatic Health Unit within the Department of Healthcare. The unit works on both government-commissioned projects and self-initiated projects, and produces and delivers scientific knowledge bases to, among others, the National Board of Health and Welfare. The unit currently has seven ongoing government commissions in several important areas including women's health, municipal healthcare, work environment, and screening. We are also involved in issues related to obesity and cancer. The unit consists of approximately ten employees, and daily operations are led by a unit manager. SBU is a knowledge authority under the Ministry of Social Affairs with the task of conducting scientific evaluations of methods within healthcare. SBU is also responsible for scientific evaluations of interventions within social services and interventions supported by LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), dentistry, and the significance of the work environment for disease development. We strive for high quality in our evaluations and other reports. The agency has over 100 employees, and collaboration is at the core of our daily work and the foundation for a positive work environment. Work Duties A project manager at SBU is responsible for driving projects forward in accordance with timeline and budget, and has the ability to lead, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in parallel. Much of the work is conducted in smaller project groups, which is why responsiveness and collaboration skills are important qualities. Examples of work duties include reviewing scientific literature, analyzing and compiling results, writing manuscripts, and communicating findings. The work also includes recruiting and collaborating with external experts and other stakeholders such as patient and user representatives. Work duties also encompass collaboration with other agencies, methodology development, training initiatives, and international collaboration. Required Qualifications · PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field for the unit. · Experience in project management with strong ability to plan, lead, organize, and execute projects. · Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Meritorious Qualifications · Experience with systematic reviews. · Strong knowledge of quantitative research methodology, especially in diagnostics. · Strong knowledge and experience with meta-analysis software. · Experience with digital tools/AI. · Experience with inter-agency collaboration. · Experience working in healthcare or care services. · Experience with collaboration between academic research and the healthcare sector. · Own research experience after obtaining a doctoral degree. Personal Qualities As a person, you communicate well and establish trusting relationships easily. You are thorough, solution-oriented, pedagogical, and have strong collaboration skills. The work also requires you to be independent, have good judgment, high personal integrity, and be able to manage working on multiple projects simultaneously. Scope and Start Date This is a permanent full-time employment (100%). SBU applies a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
