The Department of Communication is now seeking a university lecturer for a fixed-term, part-time position. The position runs from October 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 and is at 90%. Duties and responsibilities The position involves course responsibility, teaching, supervision, and examination as follows: Teaching academic Swedish language use in the introductory course in media and communication science (MKVA14:1). Course responsibility, supervision, teaching, and examination in introductory and advanced courses in media and communication science, including the submodules Introduction to Media, Communication and Interaction (MKVA14:1), Media in Everyday Life (MKVA14:4), and Journalistic Theory and Method. Supervision, teaching, and examination in the advanced course in media and communication science (MKVA22:4) and the bachelor's course in journalism (JOUK10:3). Qualifications Requirements for the position: PhD degree in media and communication science or equivalent. Experience with course responsibility in media and communication science. Experience with supervision, teaching, and examination in media and communication science and journalism. Very good knowledge of Swedish and how Swedish is used in academic writing. Higher education pedagogy courses of at least 2 weeks/3 ECTS. Attention to detail and ability to collaborate and organize. Meritorious qualifications for the position: Teaching experience in research methodology within media and communication science and journalism. Advanced knowledge in the research fields of media audiences and media use in everyday life. Experience in supporting students' writing development in Swedish. Advanced knowledge in qualitative interview methodology and media ethnography. Particularly meritorious is teaching experience in the courses this position covers. Terms The position is a 4-month fixed-term contract starting October 1 or by agreement. The position is 90% of full-time. The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading centers for research and education in the social and behavioral sciences.
