Locum Physician for Geriatric Ward

Geriatrics consists of a care ward and a memory clinic. At our facility, we work together to create the best conditions for our elderly and multi-morbid patients at Gävle Hospital. We are now seeking a physician with an interest in geriatrics for our geriatric care ward. Here you will have meaningful work for real! The position is a full-time locum contract with the earliest possible start date. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. 3 position(s). WORK DUTIES The geriatric ward's mission is to provide medical and rehabilitative treatment to elderly patients in the region. As a physician with us, you collaborate with other physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, and physical and occupational therapists. You will also work with other healthcare providers and institutions. The work is varied, challenges your thinking, and provides space for new ideas that help our elderly patients achieve a better everyday life. Your main responsibilities will include • conducting admissions and discharges • reviewing medication lists • making rounds, leading the care team, and being available to other professionals • having conversations with patients and families. You are flexible and adapt easily when circumstances change, while seeing opportunities and finding solutions to problems that arise in daily work. Your humility enables you to meet patients, families, and colleagues with respect and attentiveness, which contributes to a good work environment. With your strong collaborative skills, you work closely with colleagues from different professions and ensure that all parts of the care chain function well together. By combining initiative-taking with a problem-solving approach, you become an important part of the team and in the long-term work of developing healthcare. In your role as a physician, you should • have completed at least term 10 of the medical program • be able to communicate in Swedish in both speech and writing at a minimum C1 level. Experience from working in Swedish healthcare and clinical experience with elderly and multi-morbid patients is desirable. Employment type: Fixed-term contract.
