The Labor Market and Adult Education Department works to give more Botkyrka residents the conditions to achieve financial independence through work, studies, or other paths to a self-reliant life. The department is responsible for the municipality's labor market initiatives, day activities, adult education, vocational higher education, and career guidance. At the start of the new year, the upper secondary school will become part of the department, strengthening the connection between education, the labor market, and competence supply. The department has approximately 400 employees and will grow to nearly 800 after the new year. Through collaboration with businesses, educational providers, and other actors, we develop activities that meet both individual and labor market needs. The Position and Your Tasks We are now seeking a substitute support assistant for Uttran's day activity center, a program that offers meaningful employment for people covered by the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The program works to strengthen each individual's participation, independence, and quality of life based on each participant's abilities. The work has a creative focus and includes activities such as arts and crafts, gardening, carpentry, baking, and movement. As a support assistant, you will guide and support participants in these activities and contribute to a safe, structured, and motivating environment where each individual has the opportunity to develop at their own pace. The role also includes work as a support person, which means you participate in developing implementation plans, collaborate with participants' networks, and contribute to meaningful activities. The program is partly multilingual, and knowledge of Swedish sign language is advantageous, as it is used in communication with certain participants and colleagues. Your main responsibilities: • Guide and support participants in various activities based on their needs and interests • Contribute to a safe, creative, and developmental environment • Document according to applicable procedures in the program's LifeCare system • Collaborate with colleagues and, when necessary, family members to provide coordinated support This is a temporary position until February 27, 2027. Work is scheduled during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Work is scheduled during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. You You have a high school diploma from a care and welfare program or a children's and recreation program. Alternatively, you have foundational and specialized pedagogical training (GPU and PPU) or other relevant training, such as special education assistant. You have experience with and knowledge of providing support, both individually and in groups, to people with intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD), and mental health challenges. Other requirements for the position: • Experience working with implementation plans and digital tools for documentation and follow-up according to LSS • Experience leading groups or participating in creative activities, such as painting, textiles, or other creative expression • Experience communicating in Swedish orally and in writing in professional contexts We consider it advantageous if you have: • Knowledge of Swedish sign language • Experience working with AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), visual support, or other communicative methods To succeed in the role of support assistant, you need to be collaboration-oriented and enjoy working closely with colleagues to create continuity and security for participants. The work requires you to be organized in your approach, follow planned activities, and document according to applicable procedures. You are relationship-building in your interactions with participants and establish trusting relationships through attentive and respectful communication. Your confidence in the role allows you to adapt support based on the individual's needs and handle everyday situations professionally. The role often involves working independently with participants while being part of a shared approach in the program. This requires you to be able to plan your work, take responsibility for implementing activities, and contribute to a stable and predictable daily life. To function well in this assignment, you need to be able to create structure in everyday life, build relationships over time, and act calmly and clearly even when situations change.
