Substitute Personal Assistant

We are seeking a substitute personal assistant for a 52-year-old wheelchair user in Norrköping. He is straightforward and clear about what kind of help he needs in his daily life. The work includes assisting with personal hygiene and household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. You will also accompany him on activities such as exercise and swimming, and participate in the pool. As a personal assistant, you provide a person with a disability the same conditions as a non-disabled person to live their own life. As a personal assistant, you become part of the user's life. Since the user may be in many different places – at home, at day activities, at football matches, concerts, and so on – this requires flexibility from the personal assistant. The work is characterized by confidence in the individual's abilities and should, as far as possible, take place in dialogue and with respect for their integrity and right to self-determination. We proceed from the assumption that the individual wants to live as independently as possible, with good social relationships and in secure housing. It is important that you have a good ability to cooperate with the user as well as with colleagues. Empathy, patience, and humor are qualities we consider important. Life experience is highly valued as it helps you understand situations the individual may find themselves in. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. About the Position The substitute position is primarily intended for the period November–December 2026 and involves covering already booked, unstaffed work shifts. The basic scope during that period is approximately 30–35% of full-time. However, work shifts may become available before November if regular assistants are absent with short notice – for example due to illness, vacation, or VAB. So for those who want to work more, or start earlier, there are good opportunities for additional shifts. Scheduled working hours occur during the day, evening, night, and weekends.
