An important part of this is native language instruction and academic tutoring in the native language, as Härnösand has many students with a language background other than Swedish. As a native language teacher/academic tutor in Härnösands Municipality, you will be part of Wendela Hellmans School's organization but will work across all of the municipality's schools. Native language instruction and academic tutoring in Härnösands Municipality takes place from grade 1 in primary school through upper secondary school. We are now seeking a native language teacher and academic tutor with Tigrinya as a native language. You must be a qualified native language teacher in Tigrinya with documented strong skills in speaking and writing. You must also have good knowledge of the culture and traditions of the regions/countries where Tigrinya is spoken. Academic tutoring in the native language is an important part of this position. In order to provide academic tutoring from grade 1 through upper secondary school, you must have university education in a subject relevant to schools. Documented strong skills in Swedish in speaking and writing at upper secondary school level is a requirement. We expect you to have experience working as a native language teacher and academic tutor in Tigrinya. You are a positive person who is committed to your work and wants students to succeed. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. In your role as academic tutor, you will work with numerous class and subject teachers across the municipality's various schools. Therefore, it is important that you are an organized person with strong planning skills who communicates easily with others. Personal suitability is decisive. As a native language teacher, you will teach from grade 1 of primary school through upper secondary school. We work with stage-based instruction. Your work will include planning and conducting lessons based on the subject curriculum for native language, as well as assessing student knowledge and issuing grades. You will also help inform students and guardians about native language instruction and how to apply. As an academic tutor, you work to support students in their regular schoolwork. This can range from translating and explaining lesson assignments to preparing for tests and translating/discussing texts and speeches, both individually and during ongoing lessons. You work closely with the student, subject teachers, the student's mentor, and guardians. The work requires a great degree of independence and flexibility, and you must always keep the student's needs in focus. Since the position involves moving between schools, a driver's license and access to a car are desirable. Knowledge of Amharic is also desirable. Work in schools requires a submitted extract from the criminal record register. The position is filled on the condition that necessary decisions are made.
