The Environment and Building Administration works to develop a sustainable and growing Karlskrona with new housing and business establishments, attractive environments and well-functioning operations from an environmental and health perspective. In total, the department consists of approximately 60 employees. In the Environmental Department, environmental inspectors, environmental case handlers, administrators, municipal ecologist, unit manager and environmental manager work together. Here we work with environmental supervision, food control, nature protection, wastewater supervision, health protection supervision and more. This is to create safe, sustainable and healthy living environments in Karlskrona and provide the best possible service to our businesses and residents in the municipality. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Environmental Inspector In your work as an environmental inspector, you will participate in planning and conducting supervision according to the Environmental Code, handling incoming environmental matters and complaints of various kinds. The work offers great variety with elements of both administrative work and practical tasks in the field. The work as an environmental inspector also includes deciding on authority matters, responding to referrals and performing other case handling related to the legislation. You also prepare proposals for decisions and present them to the Environment and Building Administration Committee. The role involves working in a service-oriented manner where qualities such as clarity, flexibility and integrity are valued. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are trained as an environmental inspector, have a higher education degree in the field or other education that the employer considers equivalent and appropriate. You must have a Class B driver's license for private cars. You must have good knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations as well as good computer skills. Experience with the case management system EDP Vision is a merit. Experience working with supervision in the field of Environmentally Hazardous Activities is a merit.
