Vallentuna Friskola is an independent grades 6-9 school founded in 2002 with approximately 250 students and over 30 employees.

Vallentuna Friskola offers a developing and exciting workplace where we collectively conduct systematic quality work. Since the 2021/22 school year, we have been implementing the Olweus program, which consists of a series of coordinated, research-based measures designed to create a school environment where students can learn, thrive, and feel safe. In addition to safety, we also work systematically and collectively on study environment.
We use the Schoolsoft platform, and each subject creates plans and assignments in Google Classroom. Every student has their own Chromebook.
Vallentuna Friskola is located at Lars Hårds Väg 20B, with large, spacious classrooms, centralized specialty rooms, and a fantastic schoolyard with proximity to forest with jogging trails.
About the Position
We are now seeking a competent and dedicated teacher for a substitute position teaching Spanish to grades 6-9 during the regular teacher's planned leave of absence.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and has a natural ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are a clear leader in the classroom, confident in yourself, have a positive outlook on life, and have high expectations for your students. Your teaching is varied, well-structured, and you are thoroughly familiar with the school's curricula and assessment in the subject. To help students reach their full potential, you use a formative approach, are flexible, solution-oriented at both group and individual levels, and see possibilities in every situation.
The position is a substitute role at approximately 50% capacity, distributed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from Aug 24 through Sep 17.
We have another Spanish teacher at the school who teaches parallel classes; we would appreciate collaboration in planning so that students receive equivalent instruction.
We have a collective agreement through Almega. Individual salary negotiation.
Qualifications
We are primarily seeking someone with a teaching certificate and who is eligible to teach Spanish. Experience working in schools, assessment, and grading is a merit.
However, we also welcome applications from those currently in teacher training or who have previously worked as a Spanish teacher but have not yet obtained your teaching certificate.
