Substitute School Counselor at Akutskolan Gamla Väster

Ref: 20261840 Job Responsibilities Akutskolan Gamla Väster has now been open for one school year. An acute school receives temporary placements for four weeks for students in grades 6-9. Akutskolan Gamla Väster is organizationally under Fågelbacksskolan but operates in its own centrally located facility in Malmö. Akutskolan Gamla Väster has capacity for six students. Our school counselor is on parental leave, and we are therefore seeking a substitute school counselor who, together with three elementary school teachers, will work with this target group in accordance with school legislation and the curriculum. Education in accordance with the introductory chapter of the curriculum and instruction in accordance with course syllabi are the focus of the acute school's activities, but you are expected to have a holistic perspective on the student and their entire school day. An important responsibility is to collaborate with other actors around the student, such as guardians, the student's home school, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), police, and social services. In all collaboration, you must ensure and protect the school's mission while also safeguarding the student's right to education and their conditions for learning. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a degree in social work and at least two years of experience in social work focused on children and youth. You have experience working as a school counselor and/or working with youth exhibiting norm-breaking behavior and antisocial issues. The position requires assessment competency. It is meritorious if you have an established network and insight into social services organization. You have good knowledge of the school's goals and governing documents, understanding of other government agencies such as child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), and knowledge of practices and guidelines in this field. The assignment requires a flexible approach, initiative, good collaboration skills, and a positive view of students. You also have the ability to professionally report results to stakeholders so that support can be put into practice. You are positive and build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are communicatively skilled and can adapt your communication to different audiences. You are a confident and clear leader with the ability to see the whole student. In your work, you are also creative, development-oriented, and solution-focused. You can plan your work with the understanding that workload varies throughout the school year and have the ability to manage more stressful periods.
