The Swedish National Heritage Board is Sweden's authority for questions concerning cultural heritage. We work to ensure that cultural environments, cultural landscapes, cultural objects, and museums are preserved, used, and developed. Our mission is guided by the government's cultural policy objectives and state-level cultural heritage work. Our operations are located in Visby, Stockholm, and Tumba, and we also conduct public activities at the heritage site Glimmingehus. We have approximately 250 employees. The Museum Division consists of five units that promote development and collaboration in the museum sector and act as drivers and supporters in matters concerning cultural objects and museums' work to preserve, use, and develop cultural heritage. The division is also responsible for the operation of Glimmingehus and the Swedish Museum Service. Swedish Museum Service (SMS) rents out climate-controlled archives to museums, archives, and government agencies. The operation is fee-financed and located near Tumba commuter train station. SMS is entering a development phase to meet the needs within the museum sector for secure, fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, and shared object storage, as well as to possibly offer additional services. Your Responsibilities As unit manager, you will lead the day-to-day work on site, which includes renting secure and climate-controlled object archives to external tenants and planning and monitoring the operation's content and finances. The operation is revenue-financed and focuses on security and climate control. You will lead the operation toward established goals and work with operations management, budgeting, and follow-up. Your role will be to, together with colleagues, implement development of the Swedish Museum Service (SMS) to meet the needs within the museum sector for secure, fit-for-purpose, cost-effective, and shared object storage, as well as to possibly offer additional services. As unit manager, you will have personnel responsibility and manage a team of 5 employees with different roles. You are a clear leader who leads the team based on the Swedish National Heritage Board's values and through a coaching leadership style. Customer relations are an important part of this role, as the operation has both its own tenants and landlords. As unit manager, you create, maintain, and develop good and professional customer contacts. You are responsible for long-term business development of the operation and for creating good conditions to secure archives for customers. You are responsible for fire and burglary security, climate monitoring, and services such as pest control. Your Competence We are looking for someone with a university degree in, for example, organizational development or business administration. You have several years of documented experience successfully running a business operation with internal and external stakeholders. You have driven change initiatives and operational development in public sector operations and have experience with property management within the museum sector. In your role as unit manager, it is also required that you are business-minded and have good knowledge of operations management, planning, budgeting, and follow-up. You have the ability to develop the operation strategically and long-term. The work requires you to be responsible, flexible, and unpretentious. You are someone who enjoys customer relations and providing service and also has the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. In the role of unit manager, we see that you have clear and coaching leadership. You are a person with personal maturity and are secure in yourself. You are clear in your communication and create a good atmosphere in the workplace by inspiring and involving employees so that together you achieve the operation's goals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Other Information The employment is a temporary position for eight months with possible extension.
