Responsibilities Are you a confident and secure leader who enjoys thinking innovatively and driving development through strong employee involvement? Do you have the ability to build trusting relationships and foster good collaborations? If so, apply for the position of unit manager for the City Center unit! The Facilities Department is undergoing an organizational transformation to meet future needs and accommodate an increasing expansion rate, with several new facilities being built for our visitors. The department is led by a department manager and three operations managers: Plans, ice rinks and sports halls, Swimming and wellness, and Operations Support. Currently, there are a total of 14 unit managers and approximately 300 employees in the department. We are now seeking a unit manager who wants to take responsibility for leading the operational work at the City Center unit. The unit is responsible for operating Slottsskogsvallets sports area, Heden, Skatås, and artificial and natural grass fields in central Gothenburg. Our facilities host events such as Partille Cup, Gothia Cup, Gothenburg Marathon, athletic competitions including the World Youth Championships and Gothenburg GP, concerts, and much more. The visitors are primarily sports associations engaged in various types of organized activities, as well as contact with the general public and event organizers. In this role, you will lead approximately 13 employees with the support of 2 team leaders. The goal is to provide well-functioning facilities that contribute to improved public health and a vibrant community sports culture through modern and efficient work methods that meet today's and tomorrow's needs. The assignment involves leading, developing, and taking responsibility for the unit from a holistic perspective, covering operations, finances, and personnel. Always keeping the visitor in focus, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and working on internal and external collaboration are among the most important responsibilities as a unit manager. With the ability to think innovatively, you lead and develop the operations and staff to maintain the high level of service quality that we consistently strive for. You contribute to structure and clarity by implementing and clarifying goals and priorities for operational management. Work is conducted during daytime hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed, and you will have on-call responsibility approximately 1-2 times per term. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a university or college degree or equivalent work experience and training from employers related to the management role that the employer deems relevant. You should have management experience from an operations, delivery, and service organization, as well as knowledge of finance and work environment. It is also an advantage if you have experience working in one or more areas of sports fields, ice rinks and sports halls, as well as management experience from a politically governed organization. You need a Class B driver's license to be able to move between our facilities. We place great importance on your personal competencies. To succeed in the role of unit manager with us, you are unpretentious and confident in your leadership role, which makes you a role model and a stable support for your team. You drive your unit forward through initiatives for improvements and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operations. As a leader, you are action-oriented, take on challenges, solve problems, and make decisions that move things forward. You are professional and can navigate according to Gothenburg City's approach. With a holistic perspective, you show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. You have the ability to place your own operations' significance in a larger context, and you inspire, motivate, and engage your employees and those around you. Your good collaborative skills are demonstrated through listening, showing interest and respect. You can also act independently based on what situations require, with the courage to make your own decisions within the scope of your assignment, without being dependent on others. We welcome your application! Conditions In this recruitment, we will not request a personal letter as an application document.
