One of the unit managers has chosen to take leave to try other work for nine months, and we are now recruiting a replacement.
The Medical Unit has recently completed major work environment initiatives and is now a well-functioning workplace with good morale and solid structure.
The unit has approximately 70 skilled staff members in the professional categories of nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries, as well as nurse leaders and coordinators.
On the Medical Unit, you will be part of a stimulating community and become an important part of the team. The unit has four different subspecialties: gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology, and hematology, with 28 beds. Staff work in teams within five different care units, each consisting of a nurse, nursing assistants, and responsible physicians.

DUTIES
As a unit manager, you report directly to the operations manager and are part of the area's management group. The role includes responsibility for work environment, budget, development, and personnel. As a manager, you are expected to work closely with other unit managers and staff, as well as MLU (physicians with medical management responsibilities). Collaboration also occurs with other units at the hospital, municipalities, and primary care.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least three years of academic education in healthcare or other academic education that the employer deems relevant for the position.

You have strong communication skills and your leadership is characterized by building trust and good collaboration with a welcoming approach. You have the ability to leverage employees' knowledge, experience, and creativity to drive improvement and quality initiatives.
You are reliable and have a strong ability to work in a sustainable, thorough, and goal-oriented manner, and are persistent enough to ensure that initiated work is also completed.
Experience in management and leadership is a merit. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
