We are looking for you to work as a substitute teaching teacher at our primary schools in Valdemarsvik Municipality in grades F-9.
We are also looking for you who are interested in working as a resource person and/or student assistant during school hours or substituting in childcare at our after-school care facilities and preschools.
We have a need for substitutes both immediately and later during the fall term.
With us, you decide yourself which days and times you are able to work, making it easy to combine work with us with, for example, studies or another part-time job.
Our four primary schools are located in Valdemarsvik, Gusum, and Ringarum:
Sörbyskolan Valdemarsvik grades F-3, Vammarskolan Valdemarsvik grades 4-9, Gusums skola grades F-6, Ringarums skola grades F-6. These schools also have After-School Care. In Valdemarsvik, there is also Fabriken, our youth club/recreational facility for students from grade 4 through age 19.

DUTIES
As a substitute, you step in when regular staff are absent for shorter periods. Occasionally, longer-term substitute positions may also arise.
You find joy in meeting children and young people with all their differences, personalities, and abilities, and you want to help them develop.
As a substitute teacher, you prepare and conduct lessons according to the regular teacher's planning and contribute to a safe and meaningful day for the students. You need to have the willingness and ability to work together with other adults in a team, be able to familiarize yourself with different schools' routines, and handle situations that may arise in the classroom. You make a difference and help each student succeed in reaching their goals.
In the role of substitute at our preschools, you will work with children ages 1-5 years. Together with other staff, you provide children with a safe, fun, and educational experience at the preschool. As a substitute, the ability to take initiative is very valuable. There is always something to do at a preschool—children who need a helping hand, an encouragement, reading a story or building a fort with someone. Days are mixed with childcare (for example, help with dressing/undressing, assistance during meals) and educational activities (for example, play, exploration, and learning together with the children). A large part of the activities takes place outdoors.
At our after-school care facilities, you work together with regular staff with students ages 6-12 years. At the after-school care, you supervise students before and after regular school hours and assist during class time. The focus is usually on developing social interaction through play, sports, and creative activities.
At the after-school care, you are a resource to regular teachers and participate in recreational activities both indoors and outdoors. The ability to take initiative, communicate, and solve problems are particularly useful qualities when working as a substitute here.
Fabriken is an open recreational activity (youth club) for students in grades 4-6. Fabriken is also a recreational facility for students up to and including age 19. The facility is open afternoons after school ends and is often open during school breaks and study days. At Fabriken, young people can, for example, hang out with friends, play games, play table tennis, or study. They can also participate in project groups where they might bake or do crafts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Substitute work in school and childcare is right for you if you want to be part of shaping the people of the future. You are pedagogically inclined and enjoy teaching.
You see yourself as a natural driving force in creating good conditions for children and young people's learning.
You enjoy collaborating and are accustomed to treating children, guardians, and colleagues in a professional manner.
Part of the role involves managing relationships between children/young people and staff. Listening, asking questions, setting boundaries, and encouraging. The assignment always involves being a role model for adults.
It is important that you can take your own initiative and responsibility for your tasks.
You have a positive attitude and the ability to be flexible.
Previous experience in school or other educational work is a merit.
To work in schools and childcare, a valid certificate from the criminal record check is required. The police issue this, and you apply for it on the police website and present it in connection with a potential employment. Choose the certificate that applies to school or preschool.
