Workplace Description Sjöängsskolan is beautifully located by Örby Castle in Älvsjö. We are a preschool through grade 9 school with students from both our nearby residential area and students from farther away. Your Role Teaching in woodworking and metalworking crafts until the end of September with varying employment levels between 50-100% by agreement. In this position, you are responsible for conducting instruction and maintaining the workshop. You are responsible for professionally implementing and evaluating instruction based on current regulations and documenting student progress and work so that the regular teacher can grade them at the end of the term. Through your solid subject knowledge, you create creative lessons with differentiated and dynamic lesson design that sparks student interest. At Sjöängsskolan, you have a subject colleague in woodworking and metalworking crafts and two in textile crafts. Your Competence and Experience You have good subject knowledge and teaching experience. You are a good classroom leader who creates a safe learning environment for all students. You have a good understanding of people's different conditions for acquiring knowledge and adapt your teaching and communication accordingly to both guide and challenge. You are experienced in using digital learning tools and master the Office suite. You are insightful and can apply a norm-critical approach and perspective in planning and implementing your instruction. You are clear in the classroom but lead with warmth and look out for each individual student's best interests. You work independently but value collaboration with colleagues. You reflect on practical work both by analyzing in the moment and making didactic decisions accordingly and systematically over the school year. You have strong command of the Swedish language in speech and writing. Competency Requirements: You master the tools and machines in the workshop and can safely conduct instruction in the workshop. It is meritorious if you are qualified in the subject and hold teacher certification. It is also meritorious if you can substitute in another practical-aesthetic subject such as home economics, art, music, or physical education. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis during the application period.
