The Education Administration is responsible for all operations within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, and adult education. Arlanda Gymnasium has approximately 1,300 students. We offer 11 upper secondary educations, both college-preparatory programs and vocational programs. The school has one of few aviation technology programs in Sweden as well as national and local sports programs in handball, football, floorball, ice hockey, and e-sports. Arlanda Gymnasium also offers introductory programs, which are adapted for students who lack eligibility for a national program, as well as adapted upper secondary school, which is a four-year voluntary education for young people with intellectual disabilities. Our annual evaluations show that students and staff are very satisfied at our school. Skilled teachers and the school's bright and airy facilities are contributing factors. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The vocational programs at Arlanda Gymnasium need a substitute during this term to work with teaching and support services in Swedish and English, at both primary and upper secondary levels. We are looking for someone with experience teaching Swedish/Swedish as a second language and English who places students and their learning at the center. You will work providing support in these two subjects both individually and at the group level. You will also teach one or two classes. Our school works according to a shared pedagogical model, the Arlanda Lesson. The model guides us in our work to contribute to our students' knowledge, personal development, and learning. It supports you in being a clear leader for your students with structure and purpose. At Arlanda Gymnasium, we have full-time mentors, which means this position does not include mentorship responsibilities and allows you to focus on teaching. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is either a certified teacher in Swedish and English or is currently studying to become a teacher. If you have previously worked with vocational programs at upper secondary school, this is considered a merit. You recognize the importance of collaborating with vocational teachers to provide continuity for our students throughout their education and conduct your own teaching in a situation-adapted and flexible manner. Being well-prepared and able to motivate students to want to learn more is something you work on continuously. You are a clear leader in the classroom with high and positive expectations for students. We see good relationships between teachers and students as one of the most important success factors and are therefore looking for someone who is good at creating and maintaining good student relationships. You place students and their learning at the center. We are looking for someone who wants to teach at an upper secondary school characterized by a broad range of educations, collaborations within and outside school, and strong focus on collegial cooperation.
