As a sports facility worker, you'll be part of the Hisingen & North unit, which consists of 13 sports facility workers, two team leaders, and a unit manager. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work broadly with operations, maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of facilities as well as the vehicles and machinery used. Your workdays will include qualified ice, grass, and artificial turf maintenance, as well as some facility cleaning. The unit is responsible for operating Björlandavallen, Rambergsrinken, Tuve ice hall, and several sports fields throughout northern Gothenburg and Hisingen.
Work hours vary between daytime, evening, and weekends. As a sports facility worker with us, solo work is common, but we'd appreciate it if you're a team player since we're a team that shares knowledge and learns from each other. We take responsibility for both individual and shared tasks.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone with completed secondary education. A B driver's license, machinery experience, and craft skills are required. The unit is responsible for maintaining ice, grass, and artificial turf at our sports facilities, and we expect you to have experience in at least one of these areas.
It's advantageous to have experience and a license to operate vehicles and machinery such as agricultural tractors, wheel loaders (truck license C2), cylinder and rotary mowers, chainsaws, and clearing saws. We'd view it positively if you have a genuine interest in sports and fitness activities. It's a bonus if you also have a C and/or E driver's license.
For this position, we place great emphasis on your personal competencies. As a person, you're driven and take initiative to move work forward, whether working alone or with others. We therefore expect you to have strong collaboration skills. The role requires you to be structured and orderly, including using your time efficiently and working systematically. We value creativity and appreciate your contributions of new ideas and perspectives to develop routines and work methods. You have a good service attitude toward all our visitors including the public, schools, and organizations.
