We are seeking a crafts teacher specializing in wood and metal for a substitute position during the next school year. The position is part-time at 65%. You will work closely with our crafts teacher specializing in textiles and be part of a team with other teachers in the intermediate grades. Job Responsibilities In your role as a teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating activities based on the curriculum and other governing documents. You contribute to creating an environment that aims to strengthen our students in both their knowledge development and personal development and future confidence. You work according to the Education Act, the curriculum, and municipal and local goals. Qualifications We seek you with teacher certification with authorization to teach crafts with a specialization in wood and metal. We consider the following as advantageous: - Have worked as a crafts teacher - Have previous experience working in a school - Are well versed in the curriculum's and governing documents' goals - Have good knowledge of adaptations and special support for students - Have previous experience working with visual supports - Have good knowledge of digital tools Personal Qualities You have high positive expectations of students and believe that all students can succeed. You can communicate with both students and guardians. You have a professional demeanor in your interactions with students and guardians while being attentive, flexible, and patient. You are a clear leader in the classroom who challenges, motivates, and builds trusting relationships with students. Salary Individual salary negotiation. Work Schedule/Duration Part-time, daytime hours. The employment is a substitute position running from August 11, 2026 through June 17, 2027.
