We are looking for you as a childcare assistant for our internal substitute pool with placement at preschool Baldershage for a one-year substitute position. As a substitute pool, you are an important resource in the operation and replace regular staff during both short and long-term absences. The work offers great variety and suits you who enjoy meeting new people, quickly familiarizing yourself with different operations and contributing to continuity and good conditions for children's learning and well-being regardless of where you work.
In Avesta Municipality's preschools, we work based on ICDP, Guiding Interaction, and a low-affect approach. We see children as competent and curious individuals with a desire to succeed. About the role
As a childcare assistant in the substitute pool, you are an important part of the operation and contribute to creating a safe, fun and developing day for the children. You replace regular staff during absences and work where the need is greatest within the preschool's activities.
You have a basic schedule to work from, but working hours and placement may change based on the operation's needs. Therefore, you need to be flexible and adapt well to new work teams, departments and work situations.
In the substitute pool role, you are expected to independently plan and structure your work when needs arise in other departments. You need to quickly be able to get an overview of the operation, prioritize work tasks and adapt to new work environments to contribute to safety, continuity and quality for both children and colleagues.
An important part of the assignment is being a present, attentive and engaged adult in the children's daily life. Through play, care and positive relationships, you contribute to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment where each child has the opportunity to develop according to their abilities. You follow and support the planned activities in the department where you work for the day and collaborate with guardians and colleagues to create good relationships and high-quality operations.
You work both independently and together with colleagues and are expected to quickly become part of the work team. The work may involve working in different departments and, if needed, also in other preschools within the operation. You also have access to support from special education teachers and other support functions when needed.
This role suits you who enjoy variety, feel confident in your professional role and want to contribute to continuity and quality in the operation. You see the value in quickly becoming part of new work teams and creating good conditions for children's development, learning and well-being even when regular staff are absent.
