As a communications officer with us, you play a key role in making information important to society clear and accessible.
The position is part of the Growth and Attractiveness Department, which is part of the Support and Development Administration. The department's mission is to create conditions for long-term and sustainable growth, a strong business community, and an attractive municipality to live in. In Gällivare Municipality, society is undergoing transformation combined with an expanding mining industry. We also face major industrial investments ahead, resulting in increased labor needs. The department's focus is to coordinate, initiate, and drive growth and attractiveness work that is strategically important for Gällivare Municipality.
We are now seeking a temporary communications officer to replace the regular employee during parental leave. You will be part of the communications unit, which consists of communications officers, graphic designer, information assistant, and web manager. You will also work closely with other roles within the department. The communications unit is a support function responsible for coordinating the municipality's messages, developing the municipality's digital channels, and strengthening the municipality's overall brand. Responsibilities
In your role as a communications officer, you will work both strategically and operatively, as an advisor and implementer. You will work with all our internal and external communication concerning Gällivare Municipality and the place brand through the municipality's channels. Your main responsibilities include:
Planning, producing, and publishing content for our digital channels (website, intranet, and social media) and monitoring and responding to comments.
Providing professional communications support and advice to the municipality's departments and managers.
Maintaining ongoing contact, dialogue, and collaboration with the municipality's departments to plan relevant communications initiatives.
Writing information materials, press releases, and driving campaigns.
Ensuring that the municipality's communication complies with applicable legal requirements, guidelines, and best practices.
Brand work (place brand and employer brand).
Monitoring the external environment, tracking events in the municipality, and staying informed about important issues.
Evaluating and following up on implemented communications initiatives.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
Have completed relevant higher education in media and communication science, journalism, or marketing.
Have experience with operational and strategic communications work, preferably from municipal or other public sector activities.
Have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, write and adapt texts, and shape and convey messages for different target audiences in different channels.
Have experience working with various publishing tools and digital channels.
Have experience providing professional communications support and advice.
Have worked with strategic communications planning.
See opportunities in digital communication and are comfortable handling various digital tools.
It is advantageous if you have experience in crisis communications.

Great weight is given to personal suitability. Under the national minority language law, Gällivare Municipality is an administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is advantageous when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.

Full-time, temporary position, but no later than 2027-08-31.
