Description:

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also administers secure youth care. We operate youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create vital change. SiS LVM-home Rällsögården serves men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, combined with mental health issues. SiS is entering an exciting growth phase. To meet the growing need for treatment and support, we are now expanding our operations and therefore seeking more treatment educators. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that our clients receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. With your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to ensuring that treatment plans are carried out. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and contribute to daily activities running smoothly, including schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. Mentorship is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include supervising new employees and interns. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The work is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, which permeates our approach, our commitment, and our mindset. Work hours follow a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training course. The training alternates between theory and guided introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a fundamental positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values—to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent. B driver's license. Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: Experience working in psychiatry or LSS (disability services). Experience in client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, for example as a corrections officer. If you do not have 2-year post-secondary education, you can also apply for a position as a treatment assistant, as we have the option to make exceptions to this position if there are special reasons.
