Bergslagens Räddningstjänst is a municipal association for rescue services in the municipalities of Karlskoga, Kristinehamn, Filipstad, Degerfors, Hällefors, and Storfors with approximately 200 employees across a total of 8 fire stations. Duties At Bergslagens Räddningstjänst, you will work in an organization with broad operational activities, strong camaraderie, and excellent opportunities for professional development. We provide rescue services in both urban, rural, and industrial environments, which offers varied and developmental work. As a firefighter with us, you participate in rescue operations during fires, traffic accidents, medical emergencies, and other emergency situations. You need to be able to act calmly, professionally, and safely even under stressful conditions. Equally important is that you meet people with respect, empathy, and good judgment. An important part of the work involves preventing accidents through information and education. This can occur both in quick interactions with the public and in more planned settings, such as in schools or at workplaces. Therefore, we believe you communicate easily, build trust, and can adapt your message to different target groups. The role also includes training activities, education, and inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. No two days are the same, which places demands on flexibility, initiative, and the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. You should be able to help people in difficult situations while managing the practical and technical aspects that the profession entails. The work therefore requires good physical fitness, practical aptitude, and social competence. We are looking for someone who is responsible, attentive, collaborative, and who contributes to a positive work environment. Qualifications SMO certification or other training deemed equivalent by the employer. B driver's license plus extended B96 authorization. C driver's license. Good physical fitness and suitability for rescue service duties. Good cooperation skills and professional conduct. Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing Meritorious Several years of experience as a full-time firefighter in an emergency response unit within municipal rescue services. Experience with prevention work, educational activities, or other rescue service operations. Area responsibility within operational rescue services, e.g., instructor, method, material, or technology development. Employment Permanent employment, full-time. The position will be at one of the full-time stations in Kristinehamn or Karlskoga, with placement based on operational needs. Working Hours Primarily shift work, but daytime hours may occur during training, exercises, and other activities.
