Within the Department of Social Care, approximately 1,200 engaged employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work is carried out within elderly care, home care, disability services, and social psychiatry, as well as individual and family care. Disability Services and Social Psychiatry (FOS) is one of three departments within Social Care in Ystad Municipality. We are responsible for LSS housing, day activities, residential support, short-term stays, and personal assistance. We are approximately 250 engaged employees who work every day to help people live independent, secure, and meaningful lives. We work goal-oriented to ensure our operations maintain high competence and quality. We are now seeking engaged, confident, and driven support assistants who want to be part of building a modern, person-centered specialized team within social psychiatry from the ground up. The specialized team is based in Svarte. In the specialized team, you will work closely with, among others, nurses and staff with specialized expertise in effective interaction. You will be part of the team from the start, shaping work methods and routines, while also being offered a varied and meaningful workday, professional development within social psychiatry, and support from present leadership in a highly skilled work team. The position involves 50% work with a specific service user and 50% in other activities within FOS. WORK TASKS Working in this specialized team means providing support and assistance to people with mental health issues in their own homes and daily lives. You will meet people in different life situations, which requires patience, attentiveness, and the ability to create security and structure. The work is guiding, supportive, and motivating with the goal of strengthening the individual's abilities and capacity to handle everyday challenges. To provide the best possible support, you will work based on a clear methodological foundation and employ effective interaction techniques. The activities have a strong focus on clarifying pedagogy and apply low-affect behavior management to create a safe and respectful environment. Your role is to contribute to increasing understanding and provide practical assistance through a structured and individualized approach for each person's needs. You will collaborate with various professional disciplines and will also work closely with family members. The aim of this collaboration is to plan and implement well-adapted interventions. Work tasks may include: • Care and personal hygiene • Social support and companionship • Medication management following delegation • Cleaning, laundry, and other practical tasks • Assistance to activities or errands outside the home QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a positive view of people, strong commitment, and genuine interest in the target group. You are also confident in yourself, treat others with calmness, and work solution-oriented, even when handling multiple parallel tasks. For this position, you need to be flexible and able to adapt to changing conditions. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Qualifications: • Completed and documented education from a childhood and recreation program, health and care program, or other education that the employer deems equivalent • Good computer skills and interest in working with digital tools • Strong ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing, as the work involves social documentation • Experience working within social psychiatry Meritorious: • Experience supporting people with various disabilities and varying needs • Experience with documentation and knowledge of clarifying pedagogy and low-affect behavior management • Experience and knowledge of effective interaction techniques • Further education in psychiatry We offer a workplace where development and new thinking are encouraged, quality and competence are prioritized, and individual participation is central.
