To achieve better gender balance, we are now seeking female massage therapists for full-time work in Gran Canaria during the period June 15, 2026 – April 30, 2027 or October 15, 2026 – April 30, 2027. (You will need to be on-site approximately 9–10 days before the start date – we will help with work permits, etc.) This is a job for someone who wants to develop professionally, who prioritizes a higher quality of life, and who wants to live and work in the world's best year-round climate. However, it is not a job for you if you cannot handle physically demanding work or if you are moving to Gran Canaria in search of a high salary. About the Job • Full-time, approximately 5 days one week / 6 days the next • Work mainly outdoors at hotel pool areas • Over a season, our massage therapists typically perform 6–7 massage treatments per person per day (30 minutes each) • You work independently and are usually responsible for 2–3 hotels • Focus on deeper therapeutic massage • Working hours typically daytime, e.g., 10:00–17:00 The work is warm, physically demanding – and a lot of fun! In our work we meet customers who are on vacation and who are incredibly happy, satisfied, and grateful for their treatment with us. What We're Looking For • You are a trained massage therapist and experienced with deeper treatments • You have good physical fitness as the work is physically demanding • For better gender balance, we see it as positive if you are a woman • You are self-motivated, positive, service-oriented, with drive and a good sense of humor • You are comfortable with sales and customer contact • Swedish as your mother tongue. You also speak good English (Spanish and/or German are advantages). From June to October most customers are British and Spanish, while from November to April most customers are from Norway and Sweden • Extra plus if you can also offer beauty treatments, manicures/pedicures Salary & Benefits • Approximately €1800 gross / approximately €1400 net (Canarian wage) for a full-time position. NOTE! An average salary in Gran Canaria is approximately €1400 gross and approximately €1000 net, which means that by Canarian standards we pay a good wage BUT this is not a job for you if you have high expenses back in Sweden • Holiday pay is paid after the season • Possibility of free lunch at the hotel, which allows you to save approximately €150 per month on food costs • Bus pass/travel allowance • Massage from colleague if needed • Tips are yours to keep • Possibility of overtime Accommodation • Accommodation is arranged by yourself, but we are happy to help with tips and suggestions • Rent of approximately €900–€1000/month is typical for a small apartment as your own accommodation. If you want to share with a colleague of the same gender in shared accommodation, the cost is approximately €700–€800/month (applies only during the winter season) • Electricity, water and wifi are often included • Short bus ride or sometimes walking distance to work About Us Den Skandinaviske Massör is Gran Canaria's largest team of Scandinavian therapists.
