We Are Seeking a Transporter for Transport of Deceased - Gävle Would you like to work in a socially important operation where professionalism, respect, and care always come first? Funeral Home AB is now seeking a new team member for transporting the deceased as part of our mission. We are seeking staff for work with transport of the deceased About the Job - Transport and Care of the Deceased When a person passes away, the body must be transported in a dignified and safe manner. This may involve picking up from the place of death to the nearest mortuary or transport to the Medical Examiner for examination. As a transporter with us, you will become part of the entire process surrounding the care of the deceased. Work is always done in a team of two, where you alternate between driver and assistant. You work closely with authorities, municipal facilities, external care homes, and our own funeral homes. Work hours vary and workload can fluctuate between high-intensity periods and quieter shifts. The work also includes responsibility for vehicle maintenance, material handling, and freedom with accountability. Work Tasks Transport and care of the deceased Casket placement and assignments for our funeral homes Vehicle maintenance and handling of work and consumable materials Coordination with authorities, care personnel, and family members Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Class B driver's license (required) and confident in operating larger vehicles Basic computer skills No criminal record and not registered in the police database (verification is conducted in accordance with police authority requirements) Good physical health and stable mental state, as the work can be both physically demanding and psychologically stressful Meritorious Experience Experience transporting the deceased Experience in healthcare, care services, transport, or other service-oriented operations Personal Qualities We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are seeking someone who: Has personal maturity and good judgment Is thorough, responsible, and stress-resistant Has good teamwork skills and enjoys working in a team Is flexible and can adapt to both intense and quieter work shifts Has good communication skills both verbally and in writing Is empathetic and can treat people in difficult situations with respect and care Has an ethical approach and contributes to dignified handling of the deceased Employment Terms We apply individual salary setting in accordance with Transport guidelines.
