About the organization
NordGen (Nordic Genetic Resource Center) is an institution under the Nordic Council of Ministers that works to preserve and promote sustainable use of genetic resources that are important for food and agriculture. We do this by maintaining a collection of approximately 33,000 seed samples, leading and participating in various projects, and bringing together industry professionals working with farm animals, forestry, and plants. NordGen is also responsible for seed management in the Svalbard Global Seed Vault.
About the position
We are now seeking a temporary replacement for our seed lab for a period of one year. You will work in a specialized operation where precision, structure, and quality are essential in daily work. The work involves recurring and standardized tasks and suits you if you enjoy performing detailed work by following predetermined procedures.
Responsibilities
· Handling and preparation of seed samples
· Analysis work with technical equipment
· Quality control and documentation
· Registration and monitoring of results in digital systems
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with digital systems and has good experience with:
· Excel
· Databases and registration systems
· Digital documentation
· Careful data management

· Thorough and quality-conscious
· Responsible and self-directed
· Comfortable with repetitive and methodical tasks
· Collaborative and stable in teamwork
· Curious and willing to learn new ways of working
Other information
· The employment is a temporary position for one year.
· The position is located at NordGen's headquarters in Alnarp. You will report to the person responsible for the seed laboratory.
