Youth Meeting Places are part of the Cultural Department along with libraries, venues and events, art unit, and Kulturfabriken with city museum and culture school. In Skövde there are five youth meeting places; Skultorp Youth Center, Kulturlabbet – Young People's Cultural House, Flamman in Södra Ryd, Källar´n in Timmersdala, Lyan in Stöpen, and Tidans Meeting Place. The position will primarily be scheduled at Skultorp Youth Center and Kulturlabbet but based on needs at all meeting places. Youth Meeting Places is an LGBTQI-certified operation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a youth recreation leader, you work with young people ages 13-25 and your primary task is to be a trusted adult who works for and builds good relationships with the youth. You help create an atmosphere of openness and respect where young people feel free to express themselves and take their own initiatives. You take on a coaching role and have the ability to motivate and inspire. By promoting, supporting, and guiding young people's active participation in planning and implementing activities and projects, you help them develop while creating conditions for informal learning and meaningful leisure time. You work in open operations but also lead group activities and planned activities. As a youth recreation leader in Skövde Municipality, you also work with outreach activities. Through school visits or spending time where young people gather, you inform them about the operations and listen to what interests them. Another part of the work is to support and coach young people for the future through labor market and study support activities. As a youth recreation leader, you develop the operations together with colleagues and visitors but also collaborate with other sectors within the municipality, associations, study organizations, and regional and national operations. Work takes place mainly in the afternoons and evenings but also during daytime and weekends! The position is 75% and begins with a six-month probationary period. QUALIFICATIONS You are empathetic, inclusive, and act as a good role model with ethical awareness and critical thinking. You are a natural team player and collaborate with colleagues and other actors working within the same target group while also being self-driven and taking your own initiatives based on the goals set for the operations. You and your colleagues have a shared vision of the operations and act and communicate consistently toward visitors. You are professional and have a humble and unpretentious approach. You act safely and securely in different contexts, consider each person's circumstances, and work for everyone's equal value. You are flexible and adapt easily to changing circumstances. You are creative and pedagogical and familiar with common computer programs. It is a merit if you have youth recreation leader training or other training that the employer considers equivalent. You have a class B driver's license. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: By agreement.
