Workplace Description
We are a small unit located in Vasastan in central Stockholm. Strutsen Preschool is a staff cooperative run by engaged and curious educators with high ambitions. The educators have significant influence over the operations and all decisions are made close to the work. We constantly strive to offer all children a challenging and stimulating environment. The preschool has 60 children distributed across three age groups. We offer both children and educators a good work environment and educators are responsible for as few children as possible. There are 4 or 5 children per educator depending on the child's age. The operations are conducted in beautiful, spacious premises of 650 kvm. Outdoors, children have access to a play yard directly adjacent to the preschool. Our chef prepares meals from scratch with a large proportion of organic ingredients. The preschool has excellent results in both user surveys and Stockholm City's quality indicators that we use in our systematic quality work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained preschool teacher with a preschool teacher certification, or who is awaiting certification. This position is 75%, a part-time position. You have knowledge and ideas about how you, together with your colleagues, will implement the curriculum's goals and values. You have a child-centered focus and your approach should be clear and reflected in daily practice. You have knowledge of how pedagogical documentation can be used to make children's learning processes visible and further develop them. In your professional role, you are engaged and driven. You are also responsible and structured, with a good ability to prioritize your work efficiently. Your collaboration skills are excellent and you are accommodating and professional in your interactions with children, guardians, and colleagues. Furthermore, you have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You enjoy leading and motivating others, and you share your experiences and knowledge.
For this position, presentation of a valid certificate from the police's criminal record register is a requirement for employment.
Job Description
The position is a team leader role and work with children between 1-3 years old. This means you will lead and organize the pedagogical work in your team. Planning and evaluation are crucial for directing project work in the right direction and for changing the pedagogical environments. You will participate in parent meetings and development conversations and be responsible for documenting the development and learning of both the entire group and each individual child. We want you to lead and organize the work so that a safe and exploratory learning environment is created based on mutual respect and collaboration. You will receive pedagogical development time where you have the opportunity for documentation and reflection.
