Position Description
We're seeking a dedicated family therapist!
We want to be an easily accessible social services where people turn for support and help in various life situations. We are transitioning according to the new Social Services Act (SOL) to work more preventatively and with more non-assessed interventions. In our outpatient services, five experienced family therapists currently work with interventions for both children/youth and adults. One of them is leaving us for another position. As a family therapist with us, you will work to support and help families by offering treatment and guidance in challenging situations. In Färgelanda Municipality, Backa Barnet is being implemented across all operations.

Your Responsibilities
Family therapists work with interventions for target groups including children and youth and their families, adults with risky substance use, harmful use, and addiction, and domestic violence. Interventions should be provided both without prior needs assessment and as an intervention after a social worker has assessed the need. The work involves family therapy work (individual sessions, family sessions, service interventions, practical guidance and assistance, parenting education, discussion groups if needed, etc.) using various methods. The work also involves collaboration with other professionals and services.
When necessary, work outside office hours may occur.
We're Looking for You as Someone Who:
- Is a social worker or has other relevant education and has:
- experience working with families, children, youth, and adults
- a strong ability to build trust and establish relationships
- experience with family therapy work or equivalent
- the ability to work independently and in teams
- the ability to be flexible based on individuals' needs
It is important that you have a strong interest and commitment to family therapy work!
The candidate offered the position must provide a police clearance certificate before employment.
