Stockholm – our capital with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Welcome to us
Centrally located at Årstaberg station is Sjöviksskolan, a modern F-9 school. The school's facilities were completed in 2020 and are designed with a special focus on creating creative learning environments with a strong sense of security. This is evident through the absence of corridors, the separation of older and younger students into different spaces, and the prominent role of art in the facilities. The school's special rooms are located in the main building that houses the older students. The youngest students have their own movement room, and each homebase has an atelier for creative activities, which reduces movement between buildings. Students meet every day in the dining hall, where they each have their own area, and out in the schoolyard.
The school is organized as a three-parallel structure where each grade level forms a work team. Each grade level has its own homebase where the three classes in that grade have their classrooms along with associated group rooms and work rooms. The work in each team is led by a team leader, while pedagogical development work that takes place in teaching groups is led by the school's senior teachers.
Sjöviksskolan's vision is to create opportunities for the future. We do this by working with our core values – proud, brave, and together. All students at Sjöviksskolan should feel pride in who they are. They should feel proud of their journey through school, the knowledge and skills they develop, and the community we create together. During their time with us, students should develop courage—courage to be themselves, dare to try new things, and courage to fulfill their dreams. We do all of this together. No one should be alone at Sjöviksskolan; everyone should find community, in smaller settings with those closest to them, in larger settings with those we meet every day, and in the larger whole, all of us at Sjöviksskolan!
