University of Gothenburg is in the midst of a long-term development and transformation process where employment relations matters are becoming increasingly strategic in importance. As Head of Employment Relations, you play a central role in further developing the university's employer policy and working to establish a clear and cohesive employer role that supports operational objectives and competence supply.
The assignment spans from long-term development to handling complex employment and labor law matters. You work in close collaboration with the university's leadership, operational representatives, and union partners, contributing through dialogue, knowledge, and qualified assessments.
The university's operational support is being reviewed to create increased efficiency, coordination, and user value. Here you will be an important change leader who contributes to developing a more cohesive and operationally-close HR support that creates value for education, research, and the university's operations.
You operate in a complex and decentralized organization where dialogue and curiosity about the different conditions of operations are crucial for achieving results. The role requires that you can navigate between different perspectives and advance matters with the organization's best interests in focus.

Your Areas of Responsibility
Lead and develop the university's employment relations work and employer policy.
Ensure high quality in HR's deliverables through appropriate methods and efficient coordination within the university.
Responsible for the university's union relations and work to ensure well-functioning cooperation with union partners.
Represent the employer in external networks, forums, and collaborations.
Serve as a manager with operational, personnel, work environment, and financial responsibility for the section.
Responsible for special development initiatives that strengthen the HR area's overall development

What We Offer You
A developmental assignment in a knowledge-intensive and socially important operation. You will become part of the university's negotiation delegation, the HR Manager's management team, and help shape how the HR area contributes to the university's long-term development—working alongside competent colleagues. We offer good employment terms and work for a sustainable work situation with the opportunity for remote work up to two days per week. The position is located in Gothenburg where you work in modern facilities at Rosenlundsgatan 8 with proximity to the pulse of the city center and lunch options.
Employment
The position is located at the Personnel Unit, whose overarching mission is to support the university's leadership, faculties, and institutions in the work of strengthening the university's attractiveness and long-term competence supply. The unit consists of approximately 40 employees distributed across four sections.
You will lead the Employment Relations section, which currently consists of 9 employees with expertise in employment law, agreements, terms and conditions, negotiations, strategic competence supply, salary formation, transformation, and employment law matters.
The position is a permanent appointment as Section Manager, with trust-based working hours and start as soon as possible. Trial employment may be applied.
