The Department for Disability and Permanently Reduced Work Capacity administers a large number of social insurance benefits, including assistance compensation, sick leave and activity compensation, and work injury insurance benefits. The Legal Support business area is responsible for reconsideration, litigation, and case-handling legal support. This business area serves as a driving force in the department's legal quality work. Our legal support operations are conducted at two units, which are now being strengthened with additional colleagues. We're located in several places across the country, and currently approximately 20 experienced and dedicated attorneys work with us. Legal Support, Development, and Collaboration Working as a department attorney within an insurance department involves a special responsibility for correct and consistent application of social insurance and other applicable legislation. Based on legal governance, you're responsible for monitoring legal developments within your insurance area. By providing close legal support on administrative law matters to the insurance area's employees and to development activities, you contribute to good legal quality. You support managers and employees on legal matters and share your knowledge. You contribute to good collaboration both within the department and with other departments, including the agency's legal department. As an attorney, you handle classified information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it's important that you have a high level of security awareness. This is a job for someone who wants to take responsibility. We're looking for you who have a law degree or equivalent qualification are a notary or have other equivalent work experience act on your own initiative and take responsibility for results of high quality have a systematic and thorough work approach can understand and analyze complex issues communicate clearly, distinctly, and in a structured manner both verbally and in writing collaborate effectively to reach common goals. It's advantageous if you have good knowledge of administrative law and social insurance law have good knowledge of public access and confidentiality, other administrative law including data protection matters have experience leading projects and good teaching ability have knowledge within operational development. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Other Information We're seeking multiple attorneys, full-time, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applicable. Certain positions with us involve participation in security-sensitive activities. To be hired for such a position, a passed security clearance is required under the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
