Veterinarian for Fixed-Term Position in Small Animal Department, UDS

Department of Clinical Sciences Are you a licensed veterinarian or provisional veterinarian interested in an hourly paid position at Sweden's only university animal hospital? Welcome to apply to our small animal department! About the Job You will work in one or more of our units with typical tasks for a clinic veterinarian. With us, you will work evidence-based and have access to modern equipment. This position is an hourly paid employment, and work can be scheduled during day, evening, or night shifts—on weekdays or weekends. Your Background You are a licensed or provisional veterinarian with authorization to work in Sweden and have experience working at a larger animal hospital. Experience in intensive care is a merit. You enjoy meeting animal owners in different situations and understand the importance of maintaining good client relations. You are communicative with a strong ability to create and maintain good relationships with colleagues. You are interested in participating in work that creates favorable conditions for basic education and research. You know that you can handle an event-driven operation. Your approach is scientific with an interest in evidence-based care. As a person, you are organized, can handle occasionally pressured situations, have good self-awareness, and a willingness to contribute to the operation. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish. In this recruitment, we will place great emphasis on your personal abilities. About Us The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for basic education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species within all these fields. At SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced veterinary care go hand in hand. We educate tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary technicians and provide first-class care for companion animals, sport animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of veterinary care. Under one roof, we offer veterinary services for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, purpose-built facilities, we have access to advanced diagnostic imaging and a veterinary medical specialist laboratory. UDS operations also include an ambulatory clinic that visits stables and farms to examine and treat horses and farm animals.
