Description:

Are you ready to work in a mission-critical operation? To ensure that all animals in Sweden have the conditions to live the best lives possible, Distriktsveterinärerna exists. With 24/7 readiness, clinics throughout the country, and unique expertise in animal health, we contribute to healthier animals and safer communities. As district veterinarians, we work on behalf of private individuals, businesses, and government agencies. We provide essential services for emergency animal care, disease control, and preventive measures for good animal health. Always grounded and with our hearts in the right place. Distriktsveterinärerna is part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Welcome to Örnsköldsvik! We are a clinic passionate about professional development where you never work alone. Our veterinary team consists of 11 veterinarians and we maintain dual staffing capability, meaning two veterinarians always work together during on-call shifts. We have several licensed veterinary nurses, animal caregivers, receptionists, and a licensed BMA (Biomedical Analyst) who are invaluable in our investigations. With us, you work daily with nursing staff and alongside a mentor in surgery, or follow your veterinary colleague out into the field if needed to tackle the day's tasks. Our clinic features a fresh, modern style and is one of the largest within Distriktsveterinärerna, centrally located in the city. In January 2023, we also opened our brand-new equine clinic at the same address. With us, you can develop expertise in your areas of interest. Everything from internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, lameness investigations, to emergency care for all animal species. Our work is divided between small animals at the clinic and fieldwork with horses and production animals, plus work at our equine clinic for those interested. Our on-call service and 24/7 operations give us the opportunity to build broad foundational expertise across multiple animal species, and with our dual staffing model, you can also specialize in a particular species if desired. Örnsköldsvik offers a wide range of nature and outdoor activities. The municipality is part of Höga Kusten with a fantastic archipelago and a UNESCO World Heritage natural site. Particularly notable is Skuleskogen National Park, which takes you through classic enchanted forest with magnificent spruces, down into deep valleys, past bare rocky areas, and up to breathtaking mountain peaks. Örnsköldsvik also has ski slopes, excellent cross-country skiing trails, and an adventure pool. Curious about us? DUTIES As a veterinarian with us, you work with small animals at the clinic and/or large animals in the field or with horses at the clinic, and our patients are largely scheduled appointments. On-call duty is also a natural part of the position where you meet our patients across multiple animal species, but you have the option to choose only small animals or large animals, as there are always two veterinarians during on-call shifts. Our small animal clinic is well-equipped and the clinic offers day care. All routine clinical examinations and investigations can be performed as well as surgical procedures. With us, there are excellent opportunities for development, continuing education, and specialization in areas of interest. We appreciate you working with all animal species, but the option to specialize in, for example, only small animals or horses is available. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who thrives in an event-driven operation where the day can quickly change course and where you can adapt to handle situations as they arise. As a colleague, you enjoy sharing your expertise and developing your own knowledge and skills. You are an engaged and solution-oriented team player who supports, coaches, and works for the team's best interests and toward common goals. We place great importance on you being someone who functions well in a group and contributes to a positive atmosphere. Swedish veterinary license and a B driving license are required. We look forward to your application! Recruitment is ongoing. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment type: Permanent position. Duration: Ongoing, start date: By agreement. Work schedule: Shift-based. We care about our employees. Therefore, we offer all Distriktsveterinärerna staff members access to various benefits. We strive for diversity among our employees. Our working language is Swedish and our services require that you are fluent in Swedish both spoken and written. We typically apply a 6-month probationary period. In preparing for our recruitment process, Distriktsveterinärerna has made decisions about recruitment channels and marketing.
