Do you want to work extra on weekends and holidays and help create amazing experiences for children, young people, and families? As a Science Educator at 2047 Science Center, you'll be an important part of our weekend and holiday team.
As a Science Educator, you will primarily meet our visitors. Your tasks will vary depending on where you're needed each day. You might, for example, welcome and assist visitors at the reception, move around in our experimental environments, or show films in the Ljungbergs Planetarium. It could also involve answering questions, helping visitors, and contributing to creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
The most important part of the role is the interaction with our visitors – children, young people, and parents alike. You will lead groups and various types of sessions and activities where you engage, inspire, and encourage visitors to want to discover more. In some settings, you may also get to step into a character and use drama pedagogy, humor, and acting to create a truly great experience.
You don't need to be an expert in science and technology. We have ready-made programs, and you'll get the knowledge you need on the job. What matters most is that you're great with people, dare to make contact, and enjoy engaging others.
We are looking for someone who
enjoying meeting many different people and finds it fun to make connections
is social, curious, and engaged
dares to take initiative and doesn't wait for someone else to take the first step
likes to be yourself and create energy around you
feel comfortable speaking to groups
likes working with children, young people, and families
is flexible and can adapt to different visitors and situations
It is especially advantageous if you
have a background in drama, acting, improvisation, or similar
have experience leading groups, activities, or educational programs
have worked with children and young people
have experience in service, hospitality, or other roles where interaction with people is central
If you have an interest in science and technology, that's of course a plus, but it's not decisive. What matters most is your ability to meet people and create engagement.
