As Tools Manager, you hold a key function in ensuring that the company's tools are safe, accessible, and properly calibrated within established calibration intervals. This role is central to maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory compliance within vehicle maintenance operations.
You work both operatively and administratively, with responsibility for tools, systems, environmental and safety matters. You collaborate closely with tools managers at all depots as well as with other functions within the organization. The goal is to ensure high tool availability and effective cooperation on environmental, occupational health and safety, and fire safety matters. You maintain ongoing contact with external suppliers and partners related to calibration, tools, and safety.
Main Responsibilities
The role includes, among other things:
Ensure that calibration-required tools are calibrated and maintained according to applicable intervals
Monitor calibration dates and create work orders/RMA for calibration
Ship tools to external suppliers for calibration
Review and analyze calibration reports and take action on deviations
Serve as overall tools manager and superuser in Maximo for all depots
Set up, name, and administer calibration-required tools and create maintenance templates in Maximo
Manage procurement of new tools and develop new tools for changed or new work tasks
Participate in and contribute to risk assessments within operations
Beyond this, the role includes several important representative and safety responsibilities:
Safety representative, environmental and chemical officer (update inventories and safety data sheets)
Responsibility for first aid materials (procurement, refill, and replacement)
Manager of flammable goods – safe handling, storage, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma (preferably with technical focus)
Experience and Skills
At least 3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or equivalent
Strong understanding of technical documentation and quality requirements
Extensive experience with independent work where you've had to take initiative on tasks
Experience with tool handling, calibration, or maintenance
System proficiency, preferably experience with Maximo or similar maintenance systems
