Brå is a growing agency, and the Legal, Procurement, Records Management, Archives and Finance unit (JURAE) is now seeking a lawyer for employment as an operations lawyer with a focus on data protection and digitalization. You will work on a pleasant team with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues. We have close collaboration and share knowledge and experiences with one another. You will be an important part of our unit and will work especially closely with the other operations lawyers and the chief legal officer.
About the Role
Brå has grown significantly in recent years and sees a need to intensify the agency's data protection efforts.
The agency is also on a digitalization journey, which means that questions related to IT law are becoming increasingly relevant. The agency is now strengthening its legal support and is seeking an operations lawyer with an interest in data protection and digitalization issues.
As an operations lawyer with a focus on data protection and digitalization, you will work with such issues, AI, and public access and confidentiality. You will provide advice on data protection matters to the entire organization and work closely with the agency's IT unit, assisting with legal support in, for example, the implementation or development of new IT systems. When needed, you will assist the organization in conducting impact assessments, developing routines in the data protection area, creating training materials, and teaching employees about data protection issues. You may also become the agency's data protection officer.
Other tasks included in the role are writing response documents, developing and updating governing documents, and providing legal advice in other relevant areas of law for the agency, such as administrative law, criminal law, and public access and confidentiality.
Brå is an agency with the possibility of short decision-making processes and where we work closely with other organizational units. As an operations lawyer at the agency, there are good opportunities to influence working methods. It is an advantage if you enjoy organizational development, and we continuously work to develop our working methods and how we best support the organization.
Your Education and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- An academic degree from a law program or equivalent
- Several years of current experience with qualified legal work in the public sector
- Documented experience with data protection work.
It is a merit if you have:
- Experience as a data protection officer
- Notary certification or equivalent professional experience from a court
- Experience with digitalization work, IT law issues, AI, or information security.
Your Personal Qualities
To succeed in the role of operations lawyer with a focus on data protection and IT law at our agency, you need to be independent, responsible, and thorough. You have high integrity but are also flexible and unpretentious and find pragmatic solutions to advance the agency's work. You can quickly switch between different tasks and prioritize under time pressure, and you have good communication skills in both speech and writing. It is important that you communicate and collaborate well with others, and that you are pedagogical and structured. You should also be interested in development work and comfortable conducting training sessions within the agency.

Terms of Employment
