The County Administrative Board has broad operations and a very important role within several areas of society. This includes the highly current challenges of regional growth and implementing the green transition, developing civil defense, and nurturing democracy. The County Administrative Board is a regional government agency with approximately 1,000 pleasant and competent employees. We have operations in several locations in Västra Götaland and also in the rest of Sweden, as we are responsible for IT operations for all county administrative boards. Are you drawn to developing and coordinating externally funded projects while contributing to public benefit? Do you understand public financing and enjoy providing support with project applications? Are you also skilled at identifying financing methods and networking? Then perhaps you are our new Business Development Manager with Project Support Focus! About the Job The agency's operations have complex financing and are largely financed with external funds. Projects are financed by various EU programs, Swedish government agencies and research councils (Vinnova, Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, Formas, etc.) and other collaboration partners. The Business Development Manager will primarily be responsible for developing externally funded projects together with the departments, as well as providing methodological support for internal projects. You will be part of our development function, which is part of the service and development unit within the Operations Support Department. Here you will have colleagues who, like you, are driven by the desire to develop and improve our operations in line with the changing world. You will work closely with department and unit heads, department controllers, and project managers. Central responsibilities include: Guiding, supporting, and coaching steering committees, project managers, and operational managers. Identifying strategic project development areas and appropriate financing methods and sharing knowledge about the opportunities with external projects. Providing support and acting as a sounding board for project applications to external funders. Providing methodological support in the agency's various projects. Conducting training and facilitating experience exchange between project managers. We are constantly developing our operations, so you need to be open to the possibility that your responsibilities may also change over time. Work Location: Gothenburg, Vänersborg, or Mariestad. We offer flexible work with good opportunities for remote work part of the time. Travel is included in the position. About You We are looking for someone who has: A degree from a relevant post-secondary education of at least 120 higher education credits (equivalent to a 2-year vocational program). Extensive experience with project development, particularly with external funders such as the EU, government agencies, research councils, and foundations. Good analytical ability and experience in translating needs into solutions. Very strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English, as a large part of the work is conducted with international funders. High IT proficiency is a given, and you work smoothly in different IT systems and in a Windows environment. We would like to see that you have: Experience from the public sector, preferably with knowledge of the state accounting model. Experience with established change management or project management methods (e.g., Lean, Agile, or similar). Personal Qualities As a person, you are solution-oriented, structured, and analytical. You have a strong user and customer focus and can communicate complex matters in a pedagogical manner. You are confident in your knowledge and have the ability to engage and build trust with others. You are unpretentious and can switch between strategic big-picture perspective and operational work. You are a communicative and flexible problem-solver with strong collaboration skills. We place great importance on personal suitability and consider it self-evident that you contribute to a good work environment. We believe in equal opportunities for everyone, and one of our core missions is to promote diversity and a personnel composition at the County Administrative Board that reflects the population of the region.
