The Role of Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager at the Department of Surgery, you will drive development initiatives that strengthen quality, patient safety, and efficient care processes. The role involves close collaboration with various professionals within the department to identify areas for improvement, lead process work, and contribute to sustainable and modern surgical care.
The role includes responsibility for:
• initiating, driving, implementing, and coordinating both operational and strategic quality initiatives in accordance with the business plan
• monitoring patient safety work and supporting risk and incident analyses
• actively integrating the department's work with capacity and production management into all development and improvement initiatives
• continuously monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating established targets, metrics, and activities in Stratsys, and taking responsibility for reporting, communicating, and analyzing these in the management group and employee forums
• investigating and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data in close dialogue with the department
• taking responsibility for developing strategic procedures and policies according to departmental needs and in compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines both nationally and regionally
• taking responsibility for work related to digitalization and its implementation within the department
The role reports to the Department Head and works closely with clinic leadership, unit managers, and medical managers, while participating in the management group. You have a clear mandate to initiate and lead improvement work across the entire clinic on behalf of the management group. You represent the clinic and participate in regional process initiatives. As a Business Development Manager, you are also responsible for monitoring external developments and driving development initiatives that may be prioritized for the Department of Surgery. A prioritized area is to strengthen the Department of Surgery's process work across our three hospitals.
You will be part of a network of Business Development Managers led by the Development Director for Surgical Care as a whole.

The Department of Surgery is a regional clinic with operations at Högland Hospital in Eksjö, Länssjukhuset Ryhov in Jönköping, and Värnamo Hospital. Organizationally, the Department of Surgery belongs to the Surgical Care operational area within Region Jönköping County.

Your Profile
We are looking for someone with previous experience in business development who wants stimulating and challenging work tasks. You need to have prior education and experience in business development, improvement initiatives, and process management. Knowledge of statistics and the ability to analyze data are essential for this position.
The position is permanent full-time within your basic profession with an appointment as Business Development Manager.
As a person, you need to be well-organized, have good collaborative skills, and have the drive to advance business development within a large clinic.
A valid driver's license is required for the position.
